I'm 5' 0'; and I weigh 106, but I'm out of shape, in my arms, thighs, and stomach. What all can I do in a very limited amount of time?
My family has an elliptical machine and various weights, but I absolutely hate the elliptical, I'm okay with weights though.
Thanks for any help.I'm a teenage girl, slightly out of shape, what fitness advice can you give me?
Good for you, for wanting to become healthier %26amp; fitter.
Firstly, do it for yourself, not just to look a certain way.
Consider anytime exercising as time just for you; to make yourself physically stronger, to give yourself the chance to unwind after a hard day at school %26amp; maybe even to have some fun.
Since you don't like the elliptical machine, try one of the many other ways to move out there.
Like walking or bicycling (for transport or leisure), running, jump-rope, fitness videos, walking up stairs instead of taking the lift etc etc
As long as you enjoy doing it, you'll keep on doing it in the long-term.
Do it most days of the week. Even if you have to give up watching 30 mins of TV watching to fit it in, it'll be worth the effort
And on the weekend,if you have spare time, make the most of it.
Maybe go hiking with your family, cycling with your friends, spend some time at a near-by swimming pool or whatever other fun activity you can think off.
I'll let the others discuss weight training in more detail as this answer is starting to get a bit long.I'm a teenage girl, slightly out of shape, what fitness advice can you give me?
Hate to say it but the best way to shape up is the eliptical, I actually really enjoy it because the gym I go to has tvs on each one, maybe you can get a membership to a local JCC/YMCA and use their fitness center, usually doing in in front if people or the tvs will give you motivation. If not, you need to do some sort of cardio so if the eliptical is a deffinite no, running will help but its not nessacarily going to get you in shape or toned up very fast... Perhaps there's a yoga studio in your town? That's an amazing way to firm up, or get ';fitness'; or ';self magazine and see if there's any routine you can go through. Those mags will also help with cardio ideas. However if possible try swimming 3x a week that's really good too. Good luck!
well the elliptical will do more in terms of ';getting you in shape';... just try running aroudn the neighborhood if you don't like the elliptical. Go on the internet and find some videos of some aerobic exercises to do with whatever weights you have(light weights are better for toning up/getting in shape)
Drugs
just do the weights then..
