I am graduating in June (from high school), I'm getting good grades, I have a goal (news anchor), colleges are accepting me...etc, but, even though I am doing good in my life, what kind of advice would you give to someone who's about to enter the ';adult world,'; because all that I have been getting are negative comments about it and I am kinda scared for it.
Strange question, but I'm just curious.Adults, what advice do you have for a 17 year old girl learning about becoming an adult?
Your going to learn a whole bunch of new things, its exciting trust me on this. Your also going to feel pressure to act more mature and this is good but do not act like someone your not either. Also adults can be way to serious, so make sure that you have fun in between all the hard college work. Most importantly:
Life's a journey enjoy the ride :-)Adults, what advice do you have for a 17 year old girl learning about becoming an adult?
Isn't it odd how people love to be negative?
College is a wonderful time, where you get to redefine yourself, and your world opens to meet lots of different, new people. In college, you will be surprised at how much free time you have, after being used to a 8-3, structured school schedule -- and it's all yours, to schedule as you please!
Stay open to new people and new experiences, keep your self-respect and values (ask yourself, ';Am I gonna hate myself in the morning if I do this?';), and always challenge yourself to do something that you never have before.
Only you the director can direct the play.
Only you can decide what to do with your life. Don't let anyone else decide for you.
I'm only two years older than you, but my advice is definitely live on campus! College is a time for building your independence, and that's difficult when you're still living at home. And if you live on an off-campus apartment, you won't have access to the residence hall programs that make the transition easier.
