Any advice for a girl entering dance competitions this month?

Stay hydrated and avoid smokers!Any advice for a girl entering dance competitions this month?
well first of all dont be scared

once you are on stage you wont really be thinking that much about who are watching you because you are sooo determined to finish the dance and get off stage

there should be a lot of lights and stuff

dont forget to smile at the judges and everyone below the stage

have big movements and expressions and extensions

dont forget to point your toes and when you turn dont forget to spot

these things are usually forgotten when u are on stage because you get really nervous

if the music somehow stopped dont stop dancing keep on going till they tell you to stop.

also if you forget just make it up

also before you go on stage practice it but dont do it full out just mark it so you wont waste energy. or go over it in your mind

also bow at the end! =D

get a good night sleep the night before and right before you sleep do the dance a few times

i heard that whatever you do before you sleep you remember the most

or if you mess up keep on going its not a big deal

try you hardest and have fun

Always remember to have fun. Dancing is your passion and no competition can take that away from you.
You don't have to be nervous just pretend you're where you normally practice. Make sure you drink lots of water, and make sure you don't look ';bleh-like'; on stage by making sure you know what faces your going to use
relax, have fun, concentrate, practice your dances, practice your FACES, eat healthy and expect the unexpected

comps. are a blast you will love them

hope that helps
The best advice that i can give you is to have fun. The judges look for emotion, technique, and for appearance. Even if you mess up the judges look for how well you recovered. Just dance your heart out on the stage and if the judges can feel the emotion and energy from you then you'll do good.
Have someone video tape your 'performance' in the studio...with costume and makeup and faces. Then, you can pick it apart *before* it counts and work to make it look the way you want. This was an invaluable tool for me and I wish I had figured it out years earlier. There will be things that you do that make you cringe and things you do that you weren't even aware of. Fix them before you go. Have fun and good luck!!
