I just want some advice on how to survive those cramps, PMS, and all those extra things that we women get durring that time of the month. Please help. Its really hard to talk about this with your friends who are girls/ your mom. I would like some helpful advice. This means no boys, for they don't eperiance this at all. If they did this would be a messed up world.Periods...Do you have any advice for a girl who is just starting?
cramp survival...ibuprophin, ive tried many different things n that works best for me. my mom suggested taking aspirin just before and during ur cramps because it thins ur blood, and a lot of women get blood clots, which r quite uncomfortable :( the aspirin is supposed to keep it from clotting as much. aspirin doesnt make the pain go away for me though, so i totally love ibuprophin aka advil, but get whatever the store brand is, its just as good. speaking of just as good, i always buy the store brand tampons, the big names cost twice as much and do the same thing! as far as pads go, i always buy them with wings, and i have to say that overnight pads r a great invention. i have a full arsenal of pads n tampons so i dont have to buy them often. u will find ur favorite combo of protections, but i recommend having a long heavy absorbancy pad, an overnight heavy pad, some kind of thin or ultra thin pad, regular tampons, regular panty liners, and if u wear thong underwear they make thong panty liners, which i just love cuz u feel like ur not even on ur period, and they give u back ur last couple days that u r not quite done but u r not really on ur period, so u feel normal again. stay away from the scented pads, tampons or whatever...the perfumes are irritating to that sensitive skin.
i get strong food cravings, ever since my very first period. over the years it has become a craving for salty food, which adds to the bloating, but, whatever, i just eat a lot of olives, pickles, chips n stuff, n then just deal with the bloating lol. ooooh and chocolate is wonderful any time of the month. avoiding caffeine b4 ur period is supposed to reduce cramps, but if u pair acetominophen (tylenol) with caffeine it makes it work better. weird. i get kinda farty right b4 mine, but i havent figured out anything for that yet lol. maybe beano? idk...ummmmmm... what else...oh, yeah, if u notice u get really short tempered or u think everyone around u is an a**hole, or u just wanna cry for no reason, just remind urself that u will b back to normal in no time. in the meantime, watch ';roman holiday'; with audrey hepburn and have a good cry with a friend :) lol, i hope all my ramblings help!Periods...Do you have any advice for a girl who is just starting?
Take midol for cramps it really helps. Drink plenty of water. Also buy yorself thermacare pain relief heat wraps. They provide muscle relaxation and they have all sizes from s-xl. Also doing walking or moderate exercise helps not just laying down,
Welcome to womanhood! In the beginning it is very common for your cycles to be irregular. Always carry a pad handy and whenever you feel something warm dripping from your vagina go to the ladies room, it might be your period. As far as painful periods sometimes you get them and sometimes not. Motrin is excellent from cramps but take it with food. While you are menstruating do not consume citrus because it cuts your menstrual flow and this will be un-natural. I am going to recommend you two books to have and read so that you can build a relationship w/your body. (this is knowing your body).
Books:
It's Your Body by Niels Lauersen, M.D. and Steven Whitney.
Unmasking PMS The Complete Medical Treatment Plan by Joseph Martorano, M.D., Maureen Morgan, C.S.W., R.N., with William Fryer.
In the event your local bookstore does not have them ask them to order the books for you. Take care!
Always carry a pad/tampon with you, whichever you prefer. And always carry Midol or some other pain reliever! Excercising also helps some people get rid of cramps
You should always carry around a pad with you, incase you or a friend needs one. When you start getting craps, eat a banana. Sometimes walking might also help.
You shouldn't be embrassed to talk to your mom about this you don't think she goes through the same thing that's where your should to get your advice from not on here.
use pads to strat with
the pain is bad enough
tell your mom so that she can get you comfy pads. Drink lots of water and don't do any excersizes that are too physical
well i suggest you to take some asperin for the cramps that always works for me... and keep tampons jik you want to go swimming durring your period ... to tell you the truth pads feel weird and tamponds dont feel like anything if you put it in right.
well good luck;)
tabi
This might sound weird but trust me it works. A week before your period eat apples and plenty of raw cabbage. Roughage work really well to help against cramps. Me and my sister have been doing that for years and trust me it works.
Also try not to do such my heavy exercises just before your period. Excessive exercise can delay your period and/or make it painful
Just dont sleep your cramps away because you will wake up and be worse! So buy some midol and keep it in a safe place for whenever you need them. Or you can ask your family doctor for a prescription for your cramps if they get to bad to the point where nothing works.
Good luck!
%26amp; make sure not to sleep with tampons in. Always use pads for night time.
to start with all women do not experience the same symptoms some may have none while others can experience symptoms severe enough to literally interrupt they daily lives, you are not detailed in your symptoms so try midol, tylenol, panadol or some other similar product for cramps, also keep plenty of chocolate bars (your favorite kind) seems to help to!
Lots of water and cut the salt intake about a week before you start. Stay active and take tylenol for cramps. Your diet can play a huge roll in how bad you period gets.
advil is the only off the counter medicine that stops cramps.
Well, when you first start your period, it's normal for it to be abnormal. It can have gaps from 3 weeks to even a year before you have another. A good thing to help you get through it is my favorite, iBuprophine(spelling?). It's just a pain releiver that cures everything.
1. Tampons are your best friends- sooo much better than pads........It feels like nothing at all you can almost for get you have it!
2. When you think its finished dont be so quick to stop using tam/pads...it always creeps up on you and you can have an embarrassing time hiding the stains! ...there is always that last little bit that comes way to late!!!
3. Cramps can be bad but always carry some painkillers, nothing to strong....,..and it would pay to always have sometam/pad supplies with you at all times
4. Dont worry about PMS some women dont even get it...just depends on the induvidual....besides its everyone around you that has to deal with it %26lt;Hahahahaha%26gt;
5. If you can go on the pill it can help regulate your preiods so you will know exactly when you are going to get it and when it will finish
%26lt;speak with your doctor an see if these are right for you....%26gt;
I had the same problem - I coulnd't really talk to my mom.
But honestly, it's better if you do.
Always have a pad with you, just in case.
And tampons are the best! deff a girl's best friend haha.
Use Playtex Sport. They are strong enough for the heavy days and you can't even feel them. And use Playtex for just the light ones.
Also getting up and moving actually helps it when you have cramps. It's worse if you sit there and wait through it. Eaqt a banana or chocolate, they always make you feel better =]
First RELAX!!! I would recomend using Midol for cramps, they only take about 4 or 5 minutes to work!!! Also, I use tampons, but if you are not ready for them, just use pads. If you use pads, make sure you check them every 2 or 3 hours. You will be used to having a period soon, and it won`t be such a shock!!!
My favortie pads are the ALWAYS(the yellow ones with wings). They are comfortable and the wings help keep it in place. For the cramps, take midol, or if you don't like taking medicine you can always put a warm hand towel on your tummy, the heat dulls the pain.
use tampons and consult doctor to advise you appropriate
pain killer you may use.
